At the Milan Celebration, XSL, as the strategic partner of "Tribute to Chinese Design Over the Years," jointly released the 2024 Chinese Design Ranking with Guangzhou Design Week. This initiative showcases global perspectives, amplifies Chinese design on the world stage, empowers Chinese design to become a global representative, and embarks on a 2024 journey celebrating the heritage and innovation of Chinese designers!
"Tribute to Chinese Design Over the Years" was co-initiated by XSL, Guangzhou Design Week, media across mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan, and hundreds of design service institutions. It stands as the first large-scale documentary series in China’s interior design industry. The core mission is to review and document the influential design leaders who shaped Chinese design, exploring with them the evolution, industry transformations, opportunities, and challenges faced over the years. The event also envisions future industry development, inspiring new directions for growth.
Through formats like the Chinese Design Leaders List, Tribute Tour, Documentary Collection, Feature Film, and Hualing Banquet, the event honors iconic figures who defined the golden era of Chinese design. With reverence for craftsmanship and dedication to preserving timeless excellence, it pioneers a new chapter in Chinese design history—promising extraordinary experiences worth anticipating!
Palazzo Umanitaria
Located in central Milan, just a stone’s throw away from Piazza Duomo and Piazza Cinque Giornate, the building was formerly a Franciscan monastery (a place of worship and residence for Franciscan friars). Built in the fifteenth century, it stands as a vital Renaissance architectural witness surviving countless wars.
The monastery has long housed the Humanitarian Society—a secular institution providing social assistance and diverse cultural activities for citizens for 130 years. Established through the legacy of Italian entrepreneur and philanthropist Prospero Moisè Loria, its dining hall preserves intact frescoes that testify to exceptional artistry and the wealth and prestige of its patrons.
